About the role
Being Canada’s largest leading provider of property and casualty insurance, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. Our Technology teams reshape the way we do business. Our Claims teams are constantly improving how we help customers get back on track after a loss. Our product teams develop innovative products to better protect people and businesses, so they can focus on what matters to them most.
This transformation is fueled in large part from the contributions of our Actuarial workforce. We are seeking a driven individual with exceptional quantitative analytical skills and strong business acumen to lead insightful analyses and provide actionable recommendations to our underwriting and actuarial pricing stakeholders. This role aims to leverage one’s actuarial foundations and programming proficiency to evolve Intact’s Commercial Lines actuarial toolkit and underwriting practices.
Our growing team is looking for a Senior Analyst, Actuarial!
What you'll do here:
- Showcase your actuarial fundamentals and problem-solving in Commercial Lines underwriting use-cases with the aim of digitalising, automating and augmenting the quality and speed of underwriting decisions.
- Devise KPIs, design monitoring plans and reports to respond to emerging business problems and define measures of success of key underwriting projects.
- Implement data pipelines and reports to track and identify emerging trends and actionable insights in support of Commercial Lines business strategies and objectives.
- Help guide and prioritize the team’s work and coach effectively to strengthen both individual and group success.
- Collaborate tightly with actuarial commercial pricing, corporate underwriting, Datalab, IT and frontline underwriting on cross-functional projects.
- Share analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders and drive projects to implementation within established timelines.
What you bring to the table:
- University Degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Certifications in Mathematics, Actuarial, Finance or Economics, ACAS preferred.
- 3 years or more of actuarial experience (preferably in the P&C Insurance sector).
- Proficiency in SAS and Python coding languages as well as Power BI.
- Desirable competencies: adaptability, innovative, analytical, decision making, critical thinking, stellar communication, planning and organizing, team oriented.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
If you are passionate about actuarial science and eager to make a difference, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity!
