We are looking for a Transportation Safety & Compliance Assistant to help manage our company-owned transport assets. The Transportation Safety & Compliance Assistant will be required to maintain a comprehensive understanding of all transport vehicles, routes, and employees reporting to him or her.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Driver Evaluations
- Enforce, perform, assist in and coordinate Safety Training, relating to driver and compliance training such as Load Securement-Trip Inspections-Log Books and ELD
- Ensure new hires are properly trained in their daily duties
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and record-keeping concerning all transportation matters such as National Safety Code, Carrier Profile/CVOR, etc.
- Enforce policies and standards, and ensure compliance with transport regulations
- Be familiar with transportation taxes and licensing and registration requirements such as IFTA, Prorate, New Mexico Weight Distance Tax, HVUT etc.
- Monitor, Counsel, and Document driver violations of any provincial, federal, or local laws or company policies or regulations
- Conduct investigations to determine causes of transportation accidents
- Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints
- Ensure Driver/Vehicle files are up-to-date and properly maintained
- Manage and review all company permits and programs such as occupational health and safety, CTPAT, PIP, Smart Way, FMCSA, NSC
Required Qualifications:
- Great communication and Interpersonal skills
- 2 Years of previous safety and compliance experience
- Expert understanding of Transportation and Health and Safety Legislation
- Experience with MS Office and similar software
- Experience with Izaac and Fleet-manager.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
