Job Brief
We are looking for a results-driven Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and directing all production activities to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day to day production operations
- Understand product specifications and ensure they are met in the final product
- Control labour costs
- Responsible for production planning and product yields
- Responsible for food safety, product authenticity, and legality
- Ensure proper organization and maintenance in the production area
- Arrange employee schedules
- Delegate work to staff
- Hire and train new staff
- Understand the methods of production and refine current methods
- Forecast raw product requirements to the buyers
- Forecast packaging requirements
- Investigate accidents/incidents as required
- Report daily activity results and discrepancies to senior management
- Ensure all machinery is running safely and effectively, if not, report issue to the maintenance department
- Ensure food safety in production
- Contribute to ongoing safety and quality initiatives
- Ensure excellent product quality
- Accurately complete required production paperwork in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
- Always keep work area clean and tidy
- Always wear proper PPE, as required
- Always work safely to Occupational Health & Safety Act standards
- Always work in compliance to GMP rules
Job Terms
- Job Type: Permanent Full-time
- Probationary Period: 3 months or 480 hours, whichever longer
- Work Location: 2501-A Stanfield Rd, Mississauga ON, L4Y 1R6
- Shift Requirement: Must be flexible on Sundays to Fridays, primarily day shift, Sunday shift is required
- Compensation: TBD depends on experience level
- Benefits: Group Benefits entitlement upon completion of probation time
Qualifications
- Have 10+ years of previous related experience
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills
- University or College Degree is desired
- Knowledge in the food service industry, preferably the produce sector
