Registered Nurses practice as members of a multi-disciplinary team in accordance with the Public Hospitals Act, the Regulated Health Professions Act, the Nursing Act, and the Standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). In keeping with the Hospital’s Mission, Vision and Values, and policies and procedures, RN’s provide professional nursing care to patients. As a resource team nurse, RNs can build a career within a minimum of two clinical units tailored to their current interest, skill, and experience. This opportunity will provide the option to career plan and set goals to progressively orientate into specialized departments.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Program of study must have included surgical asepsis and medication administration, or must provide proof of post graduate completion of these courses
- Basic cardiac life support certification
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines
- Demonstrated effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to apply basic computer skills
- Demonstrated and proven ability to work in a collaborative care model with all members of the health care team
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of the College of Nurses standards of practice
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education activities supporting ongoing professional learning in nursing
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital
- Bilingualism preferred (French/English)

Located approximately 150 kilometres west of Ottawa, the Pembroke Regional Hospital delivers a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services to a mixed urban and rural population of approximately 55,000 residents in the City of Pembroke, the Town of Petawawa, and surrounding municipalities.
With the dedicated support of nearly 800 staff, an engaged physician community and hundreds of active volunteers, the Pembroke Regional Hospital is a designated District Stroke Centre and offers regional programming in the areas of mental health services, orthopaedics, telemedicine, cardiac care, Ontario Breast Screening programs, and cancer care services.
