We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. 4-6 Months Contract - Possible longer term. MTW 9-6 Thursday 9-6 or 11-8
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including follow-ups and reminders.
- Ensure the sterilization of instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment areas.
- Support the front office with administrative tasks as needed, such as handling patient inquiries.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, including assisting in orthodontics and pediatrics when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology is essential.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix is advantageous.
- Knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) systems is a plus.
- Experience with Lasers and PRF will be considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is highly desirable.

Our treatment uses the most biocompatible materials available and is 99% metal-free. CAD/CAM ceramic crowns and inlays and onlays are provided in one visit with no need for messy impressions in your mouth for several minutes and no temporary crown or filling until the second appointment and another injection.
Fluoride is not provided or recommended due to its toxic properties. Mercury fillings are removed with several safety precautions. Recent testing indicates that the mercury vapour levels in the office are low. Laser dentistry is available which provides faster healing with less pain and less need for injections. Periodontal (gum) treatments are provided without surgery and with the aid of lasers where indicated. Hygiene appointments are gentle and thourough. Improved treatment outcomes are achieved with high magnification using magnifying loupes and a dental operating microscope. Radiation levels are reduced by 70-90% using computerized digital radiographs (x-rays).
Admistratively, insurance claims are processed electronically directly to insurance carriers.
