About the role

The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is a nationally incorporated charity with chapters in 13 cities across Canada. We are currently seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic and well organized Tarbiyyah Lead to join the school team. Reporting directly to the school Principal, the Tarbiyyah Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the implementation of the Tarbiyah Framework and Islamic Values Vision and supports teachers in effectively implementing and integrating the concepts
  • Aligns school wide activities with our Tarbiyyah vision and Islamic Values
  • Oversees the integration/ reflection of our Islamic values into overall school culture and environment
  • Supports, guides, and trains teachers and school staff to effectively implement the Islamic values components, sessions and resources
  • Sets up and manages teacher teams
  • Ensures that workshops are booked and scheduled for all classes.
  • Coordinates between teachers and Tarbiyyah central team to ensure implementation of workshops.
  • Ensures Teacher collaboration and support by follow-up with regular meetings
  • Provides schedules for classes and daily announcement reminders
  • Organizes assemblies per term to reinforce and celebrate a specific value
  • Facilitates parent engagement
  • Maintains Islamic Spirit in school
  • Oversees end of year Tarbiyyah challenge, including training and teacher followup
  • Completes required reports to be submitted to the Tarbiyyah central team
  • Is the contact person between the school and the Tarbiyyah central team and provides feedback

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Education (highly recommended)
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English
  • Ability to work within a team, with integrity, enthusiasm, initiative and confidence
  • Interpersonal skills with an emphasis on compassion, patience and professionalism
  • Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice
  • Background and experience in character education and Islamic schools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to plan activities and events
  • Proven ability to manage a team

Compensation: Starting salary range depends upon education and experience
