Dawson Civil is looking for an experienced Quality Control Technician to join our team!
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil, working in a permanent, full-time position of Quality Control Technician, reporting to the Manager of Quality. The Quality Control Technician will ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Conducting and coordinating inspections of work activities
- Generating daily reports for works completed, analysis of aggregates / asphalt
- Maintain accurate and detailed records in accordance with the QMS
- Participate in all levels of the organization to continually improve process and procedures
- Manage incidents of non-conformance
- Regular travel, as required, throughout jobsites
- Communicate effectively with the Ministry of Transportation (MoTI), stakeholders, crews, supervisors, and the general public
- Preforms other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum two (2) years road and maintenance and/or construction experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the MOTI specifications, Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD)
- Strong leadership skills, managerial experience and analytical skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED SKILLS
- A combination of Engineering technologist designation or similar
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS standards
