Regina Pats Hockey Club - Food & Beverage Accountant
About the role
The Regina Pats Hockey Club is seeking for a detail-oriented and driven Accountant to join our dynamic and growing team in the food & beverage and entertainment industry. This role is key to supporting financial operations across multiple revenue streams. It is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a dynamic environment. The role will require an individual who is available to work a variety of irregular work hours including all game days/nights (evenings, weekends, and holidays).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations: accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Track and reconcile revenue from multiple sources: Food & Beverage sales, ticketing, sponsorships, events, and merchandise
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and monthly reconciliations
- Reconcile POS and event sales with cash, EFT, and credit card
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including annual audits
- Track and reconcile inventory transactions for food, beverage, and retail products
- Ensure tax compliance and support filings (sales tax, payroll tax, etc.)
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Prepare timely internal reports on margins, sales performance, and expenses
- Monitor and improve internal financial processes and controls

Advanced Excel skills

Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar)

Familiarity with POS systems, event ticketing software, and inventory platforms is a plus

Detail-oriented, self-starter, with strong organizational and time management skills

Effective communicator who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
Required Experience

Accounting degree, with CPA designation in progress

3+ years of accounting experience, specifically in Food & Beverage, retail, or entertainment sectors

Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting

Experience with inventory tracking and cost accounting
