Position Summary

This position provides assistance to the Continuing Education team and front-line student and faculty support for Online Learning courses and programs and in-class offerings. The incumbent ensures compliance with Registrar, OntarioLearn, Confederation College, and Continuing Education policies and procedures. Duties include but are not limited to:

Responding to day-to-day inquiries and requests for continuing education course and program information;

Processing a system of control for all students’ registrations, files and archives records, reports, exams, grades and course data sheets;

Scheduling and fee set-up of courses in Banner;

Assisting Continuing Education staff to monitor enrolment numbers to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of courses and programs;

Preparing and distributing individual packages to students including Login info, critical data and deadlines, course materialism, provincial and college policies and procedures;

Providing student support via email/phone/in-person/mail;

Assisting in advisement and problem-solving situations relating to online learning student registration from students, prospective students, staff and the general public as a “first contact” for providing detailed, accurate and timely information on electronically delivered courses and programs; and

Assisting the Program Officer and Registrar with regard to administrative work with faculty/facilitator contracts.

1 year certificate or equivalent education

Specific course(s), certification, qualification, formal training or accreditation required for the position

Additional Requirements

Strong communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution skills;

Advanced computer skills relating to, Microsoft Work, Access, Excel, and Outlook.

Field(s) of Study

One (1) year Office Administration diploma, or its equivalent from a recognized program

Experience

Typical number of years of experience, in addition to the necessary education level, required to perform the responsibilities of the position
