Job Summary

Chief Isaac Group is seeking a Security Guard to protect company properties, assets, employees, and tenants by maintaining a safe and secure environment. This role requires a responsible and observant individual with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Property Protection: Monitor premises to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
  • Patrolling: Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of designated areas.
  • Incident Response: Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Access Control: Verify identification, manage entry points, and enforce security policies.
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Observe security cameras and report any suspicious activities.
  • Report Writing: Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and security documentation.
  • Customer Service: Provide assistance and guidance to employees, tenants, and visitors as needed.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to workplace safety procedures and emergency protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification: Security Guard License (or willingness to obtain) is required.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, walk, and respond quickly to situations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for report writing and incident handling.
  • Situational Awareness: Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • Reliability: Punctual, responsible, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • First Aid Certification: Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) is an asset.

The Chief Isaac Group of Companies was established in 1984 to own and operate the business interests of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in (translated as ‘people of the river'), a self-governing Yukon First Nation serving the Han people located in Dawson City.

In 2009, the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Trust was established as the sole shareholder of the Chief Isaac Group of Companies acting on behalf of the Trust's beneficiaries – the citizens of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in.

The Chief Isaac Group of Companies operates contemporary enterprises in the modern world, while remaining rooted in the strong, ethical traditions of our ancestors.

Our group of companies respectfully carries the name of this historic Chief who led the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in at the time of the Klondike Gold Rush during the late 1800s.
