Job Statement:
Reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain, this position serves as the custodian of continuous improvement and foundational practice initiatives. Using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and tools in conjunction with change management and project management skills, this incumbent will assist in identifying and defining projects, develop necessary capabilities, perform current state assessments, facilitate and/or lead project improvement teams and perform ongoing audits of improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Continuous Improvement Program Leadership
· Implement and sustain CI frameworks (Lean, SCMAT, Six Sigma) to drive business performance.
· Lead improvement projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams targeting cost, quality, safety, and delivery.
· Facilitate regular performance reviews and Kaizen/CI events.
Performance Analysis and Opportunity Identification
· Use data-driven tools to analyze process performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions.
· Conduct value stream mapping and process analysis to identify improvement areas.
· Track and report performance metrics and CI project results.
Capability Building and Culture Development
· Coach and mentor frontline teams, supervisors, and managers in CI tools and methodologies.
· Embed a culture of daily improvement and problem-solving at all levels.
· Design and deliver CI training interventions to improve employee capabilities.
· Provide leadership and support in the development of process maps and procedures for the SOP manuals, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with best practices.
· Raise awareness, support, and use process improvement methods and tools through education, information and sharing of best practices.
Standardization and Best Practice Sharing
· Develop, document, and deploy standard work procedures for key processes.
· Benchmark best practices internally and externally, and drive adoption across shifts and teams.
· Facilitate and lead the development of current and future processes flowcharts/process maps, and detailed procedures recommending process changes to enhance operational excellence and minimize inefficiencies.
· Coordinate with Department Heads to align initiatives with business strategies.
· Maintain collaborative relationships with SME (subject matter experts), project team members & management across the organization.
Change Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
· Act as a change agent, building buy-in and alignment across teams.
· Engage operational, technical, and leadership teams in improvement efforts.
· Ensure successful implementation, handover, and sustainment of changes.
Physical Demand:
· May be required to stand/ sit/ walk for long periods of time.
· May be required to perform repetitive motions.
· May engage in frequent bending, stooping or squatting.
· May be required to twist, turn, climb and/or crawl.
· Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions which include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
· Must be able to work in tight or enclosed spaces.
· Must be able to work with chemicals and be able to read and understand WHMIS & SDS information.
· Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 25kg/50lb
Health and Safety:
· Conduct all Job Tasks in a Safe and Responsible manner.
· Participate in all Health and Safety, GMP and HACCP training as required.
· Report any accidents, incidents and unsafe/hazardous conditions to your supervisor.
· Report any damages of property and machinery to your supervisor.
· Ensure that you understand how and when to use the Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) that is located in your work area.
· Ensure compliance with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations and/ or laws that govern “workers” responsibilities in the workplace (covered during orientation – section 28 of the OHSA i.e., “Green Book”) and Compliance with Tradition Fine Foods Ltd. Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP Programs.
Job Specification:
· Must have University degree, preferably with a focus on engineering, operations, or supply chain.
· Minimum 2 years of related experience within supply chain and/or manufacturing, food environment preferred.
· Experienced in leading and implementing business change within a collaborative and values- driven environment.
· Familiarity with building and implementing capability/training frameworks
· Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate with diverse stakeholders to gain buy-in.
· Familiarity with Business Process Management (BPM), Six Sigma and Lean methodologies and tools.
· Expert knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
· Understanding of MS Power BI Platform.
· Excellent written and verbal communication; effective presentation skills.
· Highly developed analytical, quantitative and data analysis aptitude.
· Exceptional organization, prioritization, and planning skills
