Position: Bookeeper
Location: Montreal, QC
Type: Full-Time
Start Date: End of July
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions for each entity within the group.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and vendor accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor communications and invoice tracking.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
- Support payroll processing and government remittances (GST/QST, CNESST, DAS).
- Assist with year-end preparation for accountants and auditors.
- Monitor and track inventory purchases and capital expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with tax deadlines and other regulatory obligations.
- Collaborate closely with management to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Maintain filing systems and digital organization of receipts, contracts, and statements.
- Plus: Support basic HR functions such as employee file management, onboarding documentation, and coordination of employee benefits or compliance documentation.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Acomba, or similar accounting software.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with cloud-based systems (e.g., Google Drive, Dext, Wagepoint).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with the hospitality or restaurant industry is a strong asset.
- Ability to manage multiple entities and work independently.
- HR experience is considered a strong asset.
