Your Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Construction Administrator to support the successful delivery of building projects through the construction phase. This role bridges the gap between design and construction, ensuring that electrical systems are installed in accordance with contract documents, applicable codes, and client expectations.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders for compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Conduct site visits to observe construction progress, verify installation quality, and identify potential issues.
- Prepare and issue field reports, deficiency lists, and progress documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, clients, and internal design teams to resolve construction-related issues.
- Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and standards to support construction teams.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes (e.g., Canadian Electrical Code, local building codes).
- Participate in commissioning and final inspections of electrical systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for electrical construction-related queries.
- Attend construction meetings and provide technical input as needed.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical construction or consulting, preferably in building systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems in commercial, institutional, or residential buildings.
- Familiarity with construction documentation, contract administration, and project delivery processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and construction management platforms (e.g., Procore, Newforma).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge and application of Canadian Electrical Code and applicable building, utility, and energy codes
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
