Are you a detail-oriented, people-savvy professional with a knack for numbers and a heart for community service? The Town of Blackfalds is looking for a Municipal Clerk II to join our team for a 12-month term —a role that blends financial precision with front-line service in one of Alberta’s fastest-growing communities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Municipal Clerk II, you’ll be the go-to expert for:

Managing accounts receivable, invoicing, and monthly statements

Issuing annual animal and business licenses

Supporting customer service at the front counter and over the phone

Processing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records
-
Collaborating with departments and contributing to year-end reconciliations
-
Using software tools like Diamond Municipal Software and Perfect Minds to keep things running smoothly
What You Bring:
-
A diploma in Business Administration (with a focus on accounting)
-
2+ years of accounting experience (municipal experience is a bonus!)
-
Strong computer skills in financial software, spreadsheets, and databases
-
A calm, professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
-
A passion for public service and a commitment to continuous improvement

The hourly range for the Municipal Clerk II is $31.65 - $35.49 / hour as per the CUPE Local 417 Collective Agreement.
