As our presence in Atlantic Canada continues to grow, we’re committed to building even stronger, long-term relationships with brokers across the region. We’re looking for a driven, growth-minded Business Development Manager to help us expand our reach and further elevate the broker experience.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a results-oriented Business Development Manager  to drive origination from licensed mortgage brokers and agents throughout Atlantic Canada. In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Spend most of your work week on the road meeting brokers and networking at industry events.
  • Collaborate with our Toronto office the remaining time to strategize with leadership and coordinate with the underwriting and credit teams.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary plus commission structure, and mileage reimbursement for business travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Broker Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with mortgage brokers, brokerages, and agents to boost private mortgage application volume.
  • Market Development: Identify and onboard new broker partners, prioritizing Atlantic Canada as the key region for growth.
  • Product Promotion: Deliver compelling presentations and training sessions on Indigoblue’s private mortgage products and services.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership to set quarterly and annual sales targets and identify emerging market opportunities.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor products, market trends, and evolving regulations, sharing insights to refine product offerings and pricing.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with marketing, underwriting and credit teams to ensure smooth application processes and timely deal execution.
  • Pipeline & Forecasting: Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, providing regular updates on leads, forecasts, and closed deals.
  • Brand Ambassador: Represent Indigoblue at industry conferences, tradeshows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility.

Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: 2–3 years in mortgage sales, private/alternative lending, or financial services.
  • Sales Record: Proven success hitting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Network: Existing relationships with mortgage professionals.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex finance concepts clearly.
  • Analytical Abilities: Comfort with underwriting basics and risk assessment.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and underwriting software.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel across Atlantic Canada; mileage for business travel is covered.
