Position Overview:
We are hiring a Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager for our Annex location—a dynamic leadership role for individuals passionate about food, people, and full-scale grocery operations. Whether you are an experienced Store Manager ready to lead or a seasoned Assistant Store Manager eager to take the next step, this is a career-building opportunity in a growing company.
Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role offers full exposure to store management—from managing labour and inventory to overseeing all store departments and ensuring top-tier merchandising and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities:Store Operations & Leadership
- Lead and support all daily store functions, including scheduling, staffing, inventory management, and merchandising
- Ensure store conditions are immaculate, organized, and visually appealing across all departments
- Provide full oversight of labour management, budgeting, and payroll submissions
- Drive operational excellence in accordance with company goals, health & safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Work side-by-side with the team to build a culture of accountability, consistency, and teamwork
Merchandising & Inventory Control
- Maintain strategic product presentation, ensuring alignment with brand standards and customer expectations
- Collaborate with department leads on planograms, promotions, and product rotation
- Analyze sales trends to optimize inventory, reduce shrink, and capitalize on in-store opportunities
Team Development & Culture
- Coach, train, and develop department heads and front-line staff
- Foster a motivating and respectful environment focused on customer service and continuous improvement
- Participate in recruiting and onboarding to build a strong, service-focused team
Customer Service & Experience
- Set the tone for outstanding in-store hospitality—ensuring every customer interaction reflects our brand values
- Proactively resolve escalated customer concerns and support team members in doing the same
- Encourage active engagement with shoppers to build loyalty and trust

What You Bring:
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive grocery retail leadership experience (Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager level)
- Demonstrated experience in managing operations, labour, and merchandising across departments
- Strong communication and team-building skills with a passion for leading by example
- Excellent organizational and decision-making abilities
- A hands-on, adaptable leadership style and commitment to continuous learning
