**Senior Functional Analyst (6 Month Contract)
Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid
Staffing Placement Opportunity** POSITION AND TERM A Business Technology Services (BTS) division is seeking one (1) contract PeopleSoft HCM Senior Functional Analyst to support an upgrade project for PeopleSoft HR and Payroll modules. The contract will begin in September 2025 and run for an initial six (6) month term , with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will report to a Project Manager and collaborate closely with the internal PeopleSoft HR and Payroll Systems Support team.
Project Description And Background The primary objective is to upgrade PeopleSoft modules to their latest versions. This includes migrating:
- PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM): from version 45 to 52
- PeopleTools: from version 8.60 to 8.62
- Applying the latest Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs)
- Migrating to current versions of Windows Server OS and MS SQL Server
The candidate will assist the HR and Payroll Systems Support team and may be assigned to other full project life cycles as needed.
SERVICES The successful candidate will collaborate with business units across the enterprise to define, document, and execute functional quality assurance activities related to the PeopleSoft upgrade. Responsibilities may include coordination, design, testing, training delivery, and communication.
The candidate will use tools such as Excel (pivot tables/charts) , SharePoint , and Microsoft Visio for project documentation and reporting.
Key Services
- Analyze business processes to create functional testing strategies and plans.
- Design and execute test scenarios, cases, and scripts.
- Support business users through User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Track, document, and assist with resolution of issues.
- Clearly communicate progress and issues to project teams.
DELIVERABLES Deliverables will be tailored to the scope of the project and may include:
- Functional testing approach, test plans, and scripts
- Test results reports
- UAT plans and scripts
- End-user training materials
- Weekly or bi-weekly status updates
Knowledge & Experience
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of experience with PeopleSoft HR and Payroll in a similar role
- Minimum 5 years of functional QA experience related to PeopleSoft upgrades
- Proven success in functional testing of PeopleSoft upgrade projects
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders
- Experience working in unionized/public sector environments is a strong asset
- Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft Visio
