About The Work Environment Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start & end times.
We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto and Vancouver offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.
About You You have developed your business and credit risk acumen through varied experience working within regulated financial institutions (FI’s) and are comfortable with multi-faceted job responsibilities associated with boutique/specialized FI’s. Through your firsthand experience you are highly knowledgeable in commercial real estate construction financing particularly (multi-family properties) and term financing including underwriting, assessment, key risk identification, measurement, and mitigation of credit risk. You have a knack for proactively monitoring a commercial credit portfolio, have a keen eye for key details and are knowledgeable of current & emerging domestic real estate market conditions.
About The Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or a financial or accounting designation.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in commercial real estate and retail lending in a financial institution.
- Proven superior analytical and technical commercial credit skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial viability.
- Well versed with latest regulatory guidelines.
- Advanced MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint skills.
About The Day-to-day
- Working closely with VP Credit Risk and represents first contact point with business lines on new & renewal commercial credit submissions.
- Suggest credit solutions and assist with analysis on transaction structuring.
- Monitor, track, and review portfolio on a regular basis and prepare reports
- Collaborate and develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with line of business partners.
- Develop knowledge of industry sectors, business lines and their latest market trends.
- Demonstrate a keen understanding of current and developing regulatory issues, as well as internal policy development and compliance.
- Execute pre and post-funding quality assurance check to ensure approved credit conditions are met.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary and discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $90,000 and $120,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities & experience that the chosen candidate possess.
