Job summary
The Pro Shop Associate is a team member with a passion for and experience in fishing and hunting. The role requires to work with the fishing and hunting customers to identify their needs, assist them with finding products, explaining technical specifications of products and making professional recommendations to help them in making informed buying decisions.

Responsibilities:
- Greet, assist and thank customers in a friendly manner, over the phone and in person.
- Answer fishing and hunting related questions and provide professional advice related to product information, technical features and methods of operation.
- Recommend related products to customers so they leave with everything they need.
- Direct customers to where to find information on the laws, regulations and safety guidelines of fishing and hunting in the area.
- Remain a product “expert" through continuously learning about new products, new trends, emerging technologies.
- Ensure that retail tasks are executed efficiently (e.g., stocking, labels, facing, clean area etc.).
- Perform hole checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Network and maintain relationships with vendors and local community fishing and hunting organizations.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements / Skills
- Strong knowledge and expertise in fishing (rods, reels, fishing equipment, etc.) and hunting (hunting apparel, ammunition, firearms, hunting equipment, etc.)
- Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) is required
- Knowledge of fishing and hunting regulations
- Solid work ethic
- Approachable and highly customer-oriented
- Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
- Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, using a ladder, twisting, turning and reaching
- Experience in a customer service role and/or experience with a Canadian Tire Store (asset)
- Experience as a fishing/hunting guide (asset)
