Clinical & Quality Assurance Manager
Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.
With an emerging focus on sustainability and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental, social and governance best practices. Based in Burlington, ON, the organization also has offices in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford, London and Chatham, and a distribution centre in Oakville.
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Clinical & Quality Assurance Manager to support our Clinical Services team.
Position Overview
This role will support the redesign in the delivery of care to meet the needs of patients in the most effective way. They will foster local collaboration that enables greater communication and coordination – focusing on patients and specific local needs. Supporting best practices for value-added results in everything we do, Mohawk Medbuy nurses provide clinical expertise and actively engage in peer-to-peer exchanges to ensure that the voice of Clinicians is heard by directly involving members in the vetting and sourcing process across the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Disruption Management
The Clinical Services & Quality Assurance Manager will utilize clinical expertise and critical thinking to identify solutions and provide recommendations in the supply chain disruption management process. By working with MMC Members, suppliers, vendors, distributors, and internal departments the Manager will improve efficiency, communication, and timeliness of supplies. This key area will support member organizations by finding alternative sources of clinically acceptable supplies when disruptions occur. The role will also assist in seeking to proactively decrease supply disruptions and prevent impact to patient care.
The role will work closely with MMC’s Industry leading MitigAID Program, including maintenance and development of the weekly MitigAID report. The Clinical Services & Quality Assurance Manager will also support MMC’s warehouse customers.
The role will also engage with vendors, members, and external/government partners pertaining to high-impact supply disruptions, as required.
Sourcing Initiatives / RFP Support
Provide professional clinical expertise and leadership throughout the Request for Proposal (RFP) Sourcing process. This includes Integration of clinical research and best practices into the RFP process, the creation of scoring specifications and requirements, and member engagement through Clinical Expert Groups (CEGs) and vendor education sessions.
MMC Quality Assurance Program
Support quality assurance work for external/government partners, as required.
Member Engagement
The Clinical Services & Quality Assurance Manager provides professional clinical expertise and leadership in the management of new and existing member relationships. The Manager will actively engage in member and MMC initiatives to ensure the voice of the clinician is present.
Other Responsibilities
- Support training and mentorship of new team members, as required.
- Provide coverage for Director, as required.
- Additional professional tasks at the request of the Director
- Support the Innovation and Indigenous LaunchPad on product and Vendor evaluation.
- Support the Director in ad hoc Member meetings and Clinical Councils
Qualifications and Skills
Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt.
- Demonstrated ability to compile relevant research, conduct a review and analysis of said research and provide an executive summary of findings appropriate to identified receiving audience i.e. Clinical and non-clinical.
- Strong communication skills (presentation and written)
- Solid commitment to customer service and member support
- Excellent planning and organizational skill
- Ability to be self-directed, results oriented with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Knowledge of contract law and Broader Public Sector (BPS) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated knowledge in MS Office and electronic communication.
- Business minded, value proposition approaches.
- Experience and ability to work with a team as well as independently.
Education, Training, and Experience
Mandatory
- Post secondary degree
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- 5 to 7 years healthcare sector experience
Preferred
- 3 years relevant Acute Care clinical experience (examples include OR, Critical Care, Med/Surg experience).
- Minimum 2 years relevant progressive healthcare leadership experience
Travel
- Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
