About the role

Position Summary:

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking applications for Casual Administrative Assistants to support schools in Fort St. James. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties to support the efficient and effective operation of a school office—typically in a single-person office environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Filing, photocopying, and record keeping
  • Typing correspondence, reports, and newsletters
  • Managing reception duties and handling confidential information
  • Sending/receiving faxes and general office communication
  • Providing basic bookkeeping support

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
  • Completion of an Applied Business Technology program or Administrative Assistant Certificate
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent, relevant office experience (school setting preferred)
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
