Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist
Location: Summit Sports + Health (Riversdale location) in Saskatoon, SK
Position Type: (1) Permanent Full-Time Position OR (2) Permanent Part-Time Positions
Start Date: July 2025
About the Role:
Summit Sports + Health is a multidisciplinary health clinic operating in two locations in Saskatoon. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Medical Office Assistant/Health Receptionist to assist a nurse practitioner and other health providers on a permanent, full-time basis. We are looking for someone who is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care who thrives in a professional and dynamic healthcare setting.
The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and play an essential role in supporting clinical operations. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Open and close the clinic on work days

Greet and assist patients with professionalism and empathy

Schedule and manage appointments using Jane and Med Access EMR
-
Manage tasks that are assigned by the nurse practitioner through Med Access
-
Contact patients with appointment dates for special imaging and procedures as needed
-
Operate office electronics including the photocopiers and fax machine
-
Read and distribute emails to patients and other healthcare providers
-
Import lab results, imaging reports, and consult notes into patient charts on Med Access
-
Process medical billing, including WCB claims
-
Keeps an up-to-date nurse practitioner patient list
-
Use Jane to manage bookings and process appointment fees
-
Update the clinic voicemail with current information
-
Handle incoming and outgoing referrals and medical record requests
-
Transport lab specimens to the hospital as needed
-
Obtain vital signs and weights when required
-
Provide patients with forms to fill out prior to appointments when required
-
Pick up medical supplies and clinic inventory
-
Assist patients with mobility concerns entering or exiting the clinic
-
Maintain confidentiality and uphold all HIPA regulations
-
Support the Nurse Practitioner with administrative and clinical tasks
Qualifications:
-
Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent experience
-
Proficiency with Med Access EMR(required)
-
Familiarity with Jane App or comparable practice management software
-
Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Understanding of Saskatchewan healthcare protocols, including how to request medical records
-
Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
-
Previous experience in a primary care, sports medicine, or outpatient setting is an asset
-
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for clinic errands)
-
Criminal record check within the last 6 months (required)

Weekday hours – no weekends

4 days a week: Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Or the option to do 2 days a week between two MOAs
