KPMG’s Turnaround & Restructuring practice helps companies and/or its stakeholders that are facing challenges and uncertainty, for a variety of reasons, including business underperformance, an imminent liquidity crisis and/or an inability to raise new capital. When companies have these challenges, our team provides financial advisory services to lenders, management, boards of directors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
Our professionals provide advisory services to help stakeholders navigate financial challenges and/or special situations. By applying strategic business and financial expertise, we assist organizations to overcome the changing business environments and the challenges they face. We also provide formal insolvency expertise, including acting as trustees under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) and as a monitor under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).
As Manager, Turnaround & Restructuring, Insolvency you are a motivated team leader with expertise in finance, strategy, research, business operations and are deal focused. What you will do
- Lead and manage all aspects informal and formal restructuring processes, including asset possession, operation of insolvent businesses, preparation of cash flow forecasts, and court reporting.
- Conduct strategic options analysis, financial reporting to courts, lenders, and other stakeholders, and perform various financial analyses during crisis periods.
- Develop and oversee 13-week cash flow forecasts, liquidation analyses, and long-term business plans to monitor and manage business performance.
- Prepare and review statutory documentation in accordance with relevant legislation such as the BIA, CCAA, Wind-Up Acts, and Business Corporation Acts.
- Build and maintain relationships with special loan financiers, insolvency lawyers, business executives, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead engagement planning, scheduling, project financials, and ensure high-quality control throughout the process.
- Mentor, motivate, and coach team members, setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Completion of Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) certification and Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) designation.
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset.
- Experience in corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking, consulting, or corporate positions with a financial or accounting focus, including 3+ years of insolvency consulting experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and other relevant legislation.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling.
