About the role
Project Technologist Hazardous Materials St. John’s, NL Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Team in our St. John’s office.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Technologist will help execute a wide range of assigned field sampling programs such as air monitoring, hazardous materials assessment and sampling, workplace monitoring, safety inspections and audits. You will assist in developing various types of technical reports, health and safety documentation, and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met.
A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:
- In-House training (office & field) on sampling programs and procedures.
- Conduct onsite air sampling programs
- Conduct site investigations – asbestos, mould, mercury, PCBs, lead etc.
- Conduct field work, including visits to sites and supervise remediation activities
- Interpret and analyze sample results in relation to legislative requirements and industry-accepted guidelines
- Summarize, collate and interpret results and findings of field investigations and assessments for technical reports
- Prepare drawings and construction review reports
- Manage time of projects effectively and efficiently
- Liaise with clients and sub-contractors to ensure health, safety and hygiene needs are addressed and met
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships

- Strong communication and organizational skills with an ability to follow detailed instructions
- Ability to assist with report writing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
- Availability to work outside our core business hours and rotational weekends (when needed)
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience or post-secondary training in fields related to hazardous building materials
- There are times when employees are required by our clients to undergo security clearances and/or drug and alcohol testing in order to gain access to certain job sites
