Maintenance Planner
About the role
Your Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to work with a great team at the Alberta Children's Hospital as well alongside with a team in the Calgary Zone Rural sites. As a maintenance planner you will have the opportunity to use your acquired skills and knowledge base to work with the FM&E teams to ensure the safe operations and reliability of facility equipment. We are looking for a strong leader and communicator to guide the FM&E team through daily tasks within the department.
Description:
As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance work for equipment repairs, preventative maintenance and capital work within the hospital facilities, in accordance with directives, procedures, standards and practices.
You will manage and maintain the computerized maintenance system for demand and preventative maintenance. In addition, you will monitor, develop and implement the maintenance procedures for all buildings and special user equipment.

Required Qualifications: Completion of post-secondary education in a related trade or technology program.
Additional Required Qualifications: Must have strong computer skills (Micrsoft Applications, CMMS programs) and understanding of KPI's etc. Must have 3- 5 years' experience with Building and Plant operations in an institutional setting. Preferred previous Maintenance Planner 3-5 years' experience. Working knowledge of both electrical and mechanical or actual " hand on" knowledge. Must be a self-directed individual, well organized, goal orientated and be an excellent problem solver. Understanding of AHS Improvement Ways (LEAN) concepts and process. Must be Physically able to sit, stand and walk for period of time and distance.
Preferred Qualifications: Diploma in electrical/mechanical engineering would be an asset or Journeyman Mechanical /Electrical Trade Ticket. Or Related program. (MMP Program). Grade 12 education. Must be able to collaborate, communicate in English both verbal and written. Good understanding and practice safe work practices.
