About the role
As an Immigration Advisor, you will provide legal advice to employees and candidates in the recruitment process with respect to activities associated with obtaining and renewing work permits for Desjardins Group. As an expert, you will take charge of all immigration mandates and act as contact person for the organization's partners. The nature of the files and projects requires comprehensive knowledge of Quebec's economic immigration rules. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Ensure the complete handling of the immigration process, sometimes internally, sometimes with partners
- Work directly with managers and employees to obtain documents and information
- Produce official documents and forms to be submitted to government authorities to obtain or renew work permits for Quebec and Ontario
- In support of employees on work permits, ensure compliance of immigration files and status follow-up
- Provide support to managers and employees on immigration challenges encountered before hiring or during employment, in order to identify the best possible solutions
- Respond to government audits, consolidate the required information and provide applicable documents in a timely manner
- Occasionally produce analyses and statistics in relation to immigration operations
- Coordinate more complex cases with immigration suppliers.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience, including two years of full-time experience preparing work permit applications (LMIA-CAQ, LMIA exemptions, etc.)
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar or Certified Immigration Consultant RCIC and RQCI
- Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients.
- Good knowledge of economic immigration rules in Quebec
- Up-to-date knowledge of immigration law and ethics
