Are you a customer service professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working with the public? The Town of Peace River is seeking a motivated, organized, and community-focused Guest Services Representative to join our team at the Baytex Energy Centre.
As the main point of contact for all facility bookings and recreation program registrations, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring smooth facility operations. This permanent, full-time position is scheduled primarily for weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends, with occasional statutory holiday and daytime coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist guests in a friendly, professional manner both in person and by phone or email.
- Manage facility bookings and recreation program registrations, including rental agreements, payments, and communication with user groups.
- Process memberships, admissions, and retail sales; ensure accurate cash handling and daily reconciliation.
- Support staff with general administrative tasks using Microsoft Office and other software tools.
- Assist with marketing and promotions, including social media, signage, and internal facility advertising.
- Provide fieldhouse support, including equipment setup and takedown.
- Enforce facility policies, support safety and emergency procedures, and assist with field house supervision.
- Foster positive relationships with community members, user groups, and external agencies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years’ experience in customer service or administration.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Services, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience in recreation or leisure environments and cash handling is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and general office equipment.
- Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics/Diamond Municipal and Univerus software is an asset.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Working Conditions:
- Light physical activity (lifting up to 30 lbs); extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- A fast-paced, dynamic facility environment with fluctuating noise levels.
- Evening, weekend, and occasional holiday shifts required.
Salary: $55,083 to $69,148 annually
Hours: 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Afternoon/Evenings and Weekends, with occasional Stat and daytime coverage
