About the role

Purpose:
The Camp Counsellor Lead is responsible for the safe and effective operation of camp programs. This position will facilitate program activities, deliver quality instruction and provide lead support to Camp Counsellors.

Education:
Must be enrolled as a York student. Valid certification in Standard First Aid & CPR Level C.

Experience:
Previous experience working as a camp counsellor or sports instructor.

Skills:

  1. Ability to understand and demonstrate instructions, policies & procedures.2. Ability to lead and motivate others towards learning new knowledge.3. Ability to provide instruction and support others in developing knowledge or skills.4. Ability to demonstrate responsible, ethical and professional conduct.5. Ability to verbally communicate with others to explain and share information.6. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook or PowerPoint

Additional Notes:
Vulnerable Sector Police check required.Ability to lift/move/carry equipment or material of varying weights up to 25lb.
