Inventory Control Specialist

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.

MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental social, and economic wellbeing – and fosters the participation of Indigenous businesses. Based in Burlington, ON, MMC operates regional hubs in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford and London as well as a hub and distribution centre in Oakville.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time (6 month contract) Inventory Control Specialist to support our Distribution Centre Operations team. This position is an on-site position working Monday to Friday, 5:30am - 1:30pm out of our Oakville Distribution Centre .

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily counts (errors, product movements, short picks, warehouse generated requests, IPRA counts) and adjustments based on reported errors
  • Perform root cause analysis of product movement errors and provide and implement corrective measures
  • Ensure Customer and Vendor returns are processed in a timely manner
  • Item quality checks for characteristics including lot number, expiry date, size, description, etc.
  • Perform monthly analysis of warehouse slotting and solicit input from warehouse staff to determine necessary changes in warehouse slotting that will improve picking productivity and reduce replenishment activity
  • Monitor EWM reports to identify and correct issues with volumetrics, item set-up, location set-up, cubiscan all new items, and obsolete items to increase efficiencies
  • Critically evaluate environment and procedures and offer suggestions to increase safety and efficiency in the warehouse
  • Complete housekeeping tasks in the warehouse
  • Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-Secondary education in business and/or a related field is preferred
  • Proven inventory control experience with a good knowledge of supply chain principles
  • Highly organized, self-motivated and dependable team player with a strong aptitude for analysis and process refinement
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all internal/external customers, providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong computer skills in a windows environment (Outlook, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Licensed Lift-truck Operators Certificate
  • A minimum of 2 years material handling experience with inventory control in a fast-paced warehouse / distribution environment using a Warehouse Management System
  • Experience with SAP: Extended Warehouse Management is considered an asset

Travel

  • Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
