- The Role
Reporting to the VP, Field Operations, this sales professional will identify and create strategic relationships with potential partners or customers through direct and indirect communications and assist in the development of new business opportunities with existing and potential customers. The Paint Body & Equipment (PBE) Business Development Specialist will partner with marketing, sales and product development teams to implement business development initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of products and/or services within an assigned territory.
- Responsible for increasing awareness or automotive refinish products.
- Provides information to customers regarding available automotive refinish products and programs; arranges for necessary training for customers as well as store team.
- Required Skills and Experience
- 5 - 10 years of professional sales experience in the related field
- Hands on technical experience in the collision industry and hands on knowledge of painting procedures and processes
- Understanding and usage of multiple paint manufactures is an asset;
- Understanding of management and operations as it relates to productivity improvement
- Interacts with PBE vendor representatives.
- Maintains close working relationships with the distribution centers, store group, and independent management teams to ensure teammates are well informed.
- Assists management in designing product knowledge training for all teammates, commercial customers and national accounts.
- Increase sales by using information gathered on competing products, namely their strengths and weaknesses.
- Gathers product information, such as features, benefits and technical data for internal and external customer training needs.
- Maintain communication and provide support to National Account customers who use paint and body shop products.
- This role requires travel across the assigned territory.
- Must have well developed interpersonal skills to deal with customers, teammates and senior leadership
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally
- Requires demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be motivated individual, with good negotiation and persuasion skills
- Ability to discern the importance of projects and schedule them accordingly
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
