Job Description And Responsibilities This role is responsible for monthly accounting close processes, preparing journal entries and preparing analytical analysis as required. Additionally, in this role the successful candidate will be responsible for monthly account reconciliations, including analyzing balances and ensuring accounting treatment is in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This position reports to the Accounting Manager, Canadian Operations.

- Responsible for monthly accounting close processes, preparing journal entries including accruals, fixed asset depreciation and preparing analytical analysis
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations, including analyzing balances and ensuring accounting treatment is in accordance with GAAP and IFRS guidelines
- Record intercompany transactions, ensuring all accounts are in balance
- Prepare monthly reporting package(s)
- Assist with ensuring that adequate internal controls exist and are maintained
- Assist external and internal auditors in the performance of year-end and interim financial audits/reviews
- Ad-hoc reporting to support operations
- Assist other team members in completing corporate projects/assignments
- Assisting with preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
- Collaboratively work with various teams within the organization including EVRAZ management team
- Utilize problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills to understand the business and accounting processes
- Assist with improvement initiatives for data collection and reporting automation
- Performs other duties as assigned, including special projects as needed
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Accounting and/or finance, Canadian Professional Accountant designation preferred
- Minimum 3 years of related experience, manufacturing industry and/or cost accounting background preferred
- Excellent skills in MS Office Suite with advanced or Expert level skillset in Excel
- Experience with ERP required; Experience with Oracle or Hyperion systems desirable
- Must be a self-starter and flexible with initiative to work independently
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills; results driven, accountable and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Pro-active spirit and good communication skills, team oriented, collaborative working style
- Exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) reporting would be beneficial.
