ACCOUNTS PAYABLE / PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT
Company Summary:
Riverpark Properties Ltd. has been providing third-party property and asset management services for owners of commercial real estate for over 20 years. Riverpark is based in Calgary, Alberta and currently manages a portfolio of 1,900,000 square feet of office, industrial and retail properties in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Airdrie.
We are currently looking for someone to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be joining a team of experienced accounting professionals that are responsible for the financial management of approximately 50 office, industrial and retail properties. Working together, our accounting team provides accurate and timely financial information for both our internal teams and our clients.
Position Summary:
This position will report directly to the Assistant Controller and will interact with coworkers of all levels throughout the company. We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail and great communication skills. Proficiency with Office and Excel is a must-have.
Ideally, this will be a full-time position with responsibilities including both accounts payable duties and commercial real estate property accounting. We will also consider individuals looking for a part-time position.
Core Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Preparation of invoice packages for review and approval
- Accurate and timely data entry of all payables
- Compile packages for cheque signing and filing of backup
- Manage delivery of general/payables email address
Property Accountant - Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Preparation of monthly financial statements including variance analysis and reporting
- Prepare, analyze and charge annual tenant CAM recoveries and adjustments
- Prepare annual budgets
- Setup of tenant leases and charges, including chargeback invoices
Property Accountant – Cash Management
- Complete bank reconciliations, identify anomalies and prepare monthly packages for review
- Prepare monthly client distributions including variance analysis and posting
- Analyze accounts payable and cash requirements to prepare for cheque runs
- Prepare cash flow projections and reforecasting where required
Property Accountant - Compliance
- Prepare annual CAM audit working papers as required
- Prepare year-end financial working papers as required
- Prepare, complete and file CRA Filings (GST / NRT / Corporate Tax payment
