With operations spanning both the manufacturing floor and the construction site, we deliver high-quality products and execute major projects across Ontario. We’re currently seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Accountant to support our growing team and ensure financial accuracy.
Position Overview
As an Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial transactions, preparing accurate reports, and supporting job costing and inventory controls. This role requires a solid understanding of both manufacturing and construction accounting processes, including cost tracking, project-based billing, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP or ASPE
- Complete month-end and year-end closings, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
- Track and reconcile job costs, project budgets, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports
- Monitor and report on raw material and finished goods inventory for manufacturing
- Process payroll and benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Maintain companies pension plan
- Complete budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and insurance requirements
- Collaborate with sales teams and operations to ensure accuracy in pricing and daily production reporting
- Manage and review bank accounts, transactions and cash flow
- Complete/File/Monitor all necessary compliance audits, EHT, WSIB, HST, etc.
- Lead the companies IT functions
- Find, file and support all Grant Applications and Funding opportunities
- Support annual audit
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and inventory management
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage, or similar
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
- CPA designation (or working toward) is a requirement
