Position Overview
The Technician is responsible for timely and effective resolutions to end-user productivity issues as they relate to IT-serviced computer operations. This will be accomplished by performing question/problem diagnoses, guiding users through to issue resolution, communicating technical solutions in user-friendly language, and conducting end-user training where necessary.
This person will assist the Systems Administrator in the testing, evaluation and implementation of devices. The Technician is also responsible for recording problems/solutions within the help desk call-tracking system.
Education and experience

College diploma in Computer Science or related field

Minimum of one (1) year experience performing duties related to office support in an IT setting
-
Ability to work efficiently with other members of the team
-
Ability to communicate effectively with end-users and colleagues
-
Ability to prioritize duties, handle large workloads and work under pressure
-
Ability to self-teach and research solutions and new technologies
-
Strong ability to support, deploy and troubleshoot desktops and applications
-
Strong telephone communication skills
-
Interpersonal relations
-
Customer service orientated approach
-
Ability to lift objects using proper technique
-
Time management
-
Self-initiative
-
Knowledge of computer workstation setup

Knowledge of help desk management software tools

Knowledge of network principles and typologies

Ability to work in both official languages;

Driver’s License. Valid in Ontario
HOURS OF WORK:
Regular full-time - 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
and required to work outside normal hours for emergency situations or special projects.
Criminal Check
As a pre-condition of employment:

All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
