About the role

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Clio - Cloud-Based Legal Technology. We are currently looking for a Software Development Manager, Product Security in Canada.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader to shape the future of product security in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You will split your time between contributing directly to code and managing a team focused on building secure, high-impact features. Collaborating closely with product and design leaders, you’ll help define technical roadmaps and foster a high-performing, inclusive culture. Accountabilities:

  • Lead a high-performing engineering team focused on product and platform security, contributing to code and architecture decisions.
  • Collaborate with product and design leads to define technical roadmaps that address customer needs and align with business goals.
  • Participate in hands-on coding, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making to support secure product development.
  • Foster a safe, collaborative team environment that values feedback, continuous improvement, and career development.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts to grow a diverse and talented engineering team.
  • Guide the team through complex security challenges, helping to secure sensitive data and protect users across a large-scale SaaS platform.
  • Ensure adaptability and high execution standards in a constantly evolving technical and regulatory landscape.

Requirements

* Proven success in software development leadership, particularly within large-scale SaaS environments.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on coding experience and the ability to guide architectural and engineering decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and retain engineering talent in a competitive market.
  • Clear track record of leading impactful projects and learning from both successes and failures.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams around technical goals.
  • A balanced mindset, combining technical rigor with empathy and adaptability.
  • Bonus: Experience with Ruby on Rails, CRM products at scale, or a strong interest in security.
