Job Description:
As a Cook you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious, well-balanced, and delicious meals. You will work as part of a collaborative kitchen team and follow dietary guidelines tailored to our residents' specific needs, including those with dietary restrictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to the facility’s menu and dietary plans.
- Ensure meals meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of special meals and events.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Support special dietary requests, including those for residents with allergies, diabetes, or other health-related conditions.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
- Food Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and nutrition for seniors.
- Ability to follow recipes and special dietary plans.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
