- Wage: $17.70/hr
- Seasonal (starting in July to October 31st)
- Full-Time (4-5 shifts a week)
WHAT WILL I BE DOING? As a Mountain Adventure Guide, you ensure a safe, exciting experience by welcoming guests, fitting harnesses, and enforcing park rules. You monitor participants, provide coaching, and assist in rescues when needed. With daily gear and course inspections, you keep the adventure running smoothly!
- Assists in conducting participant orientation, prescreening and waiver process for guests, clearly articulating all park related rules and risks,
- Maintains the ability to harness guests correctly
- Directs the flow of participant traffic, ensuring adherence to rules, monitoring participants to ensure a safe experience
- Observes participant behaviour, assessing and enforcing appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures;
- Maintains visual contact with all participants in order to anticipate participants needs and provides coaching, encouragement and support;
- Assists in rescue efforts where necessary or instructed by supervisor/team lead, including verbal assist and possible physical evacuation;
- Completes an inspection of all course components and of all course gear daily; Maintains inspection logs daily;
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Previous experience in a high volume fast paced environment is an asset.
- Comfortable working at moderate heights up to 25 feet
- Proven customer service experience and thrive working within a dynamic team environment
- Excellent leadership and facilitations skills required
- Coaching/instructional experience in a related field
- Previous recreational/resort experience and knowledge required
- Must be a professional, energetic, independent worker
- Must be able to reason and react with quick judgment, while remaining calm under pressure
- Able to work full and active days outside in the elements; must be physically able to navigate all attractions
- Flexible work schedule (must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays)
