Vlad Alyokhin, CPA, Professional Corporation (“VAPC”) is a full-service tax, accounting and consulting firm based in Toronto, Canada. We work with a wide range of clients including entrepreneurs, start-ups, private businesses, owner-managers, Canada-US cross border clients and high net worth individuals to help them with tax efficient strategies. Our services include accounting and assurance, Canadian personal and corporate tax, GST/HST, payroll and US personal and corporate tax.

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team to work from our Etobicoke office (Hwy 401 and 427).

What you can expect to gain valuable experience on:

• Preparation of the corporate income tax returns (“T2”);
• Work on the Compilation engagements (“NTR”);
• Preparation of the personal income tax returns (“T1”);
• Preparation of the U.S. Personal Tax returns (“1040”) and state returns, as applicable;
• Preparation of the U.S. Corporate Tax returns (“1120, 1120-S and 1120-F”) and state returns as applicable;
• Bookkeeping and payroll assistance;
• Preparation of various information returns such as T4s, T5s, T4As, NR-4s and other;
• Assistance with the CRA reviews and other ad-hoc projects;

What you bring to VAPC:

• Minimum of 3 year of accounting experience with a Canadian CPA/CA firm is a must and US tax experience is desired;
• Good working knowledge of accounting software especially QuickBooks, Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and CCH Axcess;
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Word;
• Active pursuit of an accounting designation;
• Positive attitude and desire to learn and advance; and
• Excellent communication skills -- interpersonal, verbal, written.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
