The role:
Perform comprehensive financial analysis on a monthly and ad hoc basis to support key decisions related to cash flow, profitability, credit, and expense control. Responsible for managing the company’s budgeting process, financial planning, and cash oversight, while mitigating organizational risk. This role collaborates closely with the entire company and specifically with the executive leadership to implement and maintain effective financial systems and controls.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver timely financial insights on cash flow, profitability, credit, and expenditures
- Oversee cash operations, invoicing, and receivables
- Own the full budgeting and forecasting lifecycle
- Manage foreign currency position and recommend hedging strategies as appropriate
- Prepare required financial documents and reports, and communicate directly with government agencies—including Public Works Canada—and other institutions to support compliance with regulations and contract requirements
- Support and validate program-level earned value management (EVM) data
- Develop and maintain financial models and systems leveraging Excel and other advanced tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Partner cross-functionally and engage executive stakeholders
- Work on ad hoc projects and analysis as required
You Bring:
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience
- Three to five (3-5) years in corporate financial management
- Degree in Accounting or finance with solid GAAP knowledge
- Excellent organization, accuracy, and deadline management
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization
