Description:

The Assistant Manager oversees daily operations and staffing for respiratory therapy and sleep lab services, supports staff performance and attendance management, and serves as the first point of contact for frontline staff concerns related to patient care and clinical practice. The role includes coordinating human, financial, and material resources to ensure efficient service delivery, while contributing to program development and collaborating with leadership to enhance care quality and operational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in a related healthcare field, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in healthcare delivery or management. Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to integrate clinical excellence into daily operations. Optimism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient- and family-centered care are essential. Proficiency with computer systems, along with excellent communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, analytical thinking, change management, organizational, and project management skills, is required. A solid understanding of the Health Professions Act, related legislation, and professional standards of practice is also necessary. A combination of education, skills, and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current knowledge of clinical practices in respiratory therapy and sleep lab services, graduation from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy or a related healthcare program, and previous supervisory or management experience. Additional assets include completion of leadership courses or certifications.
