Family Practice Opportunity
Family Practice opportunity with Saturna Medical Clinic, that provides primary care services to the residents of Saturna Island. The Saturna Medical Clinic is a community-built clinic, operated by the Saturna Community Club Society. The clinic is supported by a 0.4 FTE MOA; episodic visiting mental health and substance use worker one day per month; and home care and palliative care is coordinated from the Peninsula Health Unit (PHU) Community Health Services Team. Historically, Island Health has provided 0.2FTE of Nurse Practitioner support (vacant).
There is no Electronic Medical Record at this time.
There is opportunity for the successful applicant to work with the emerging local Primary Care Network.
There is a 0.7 FTE APP service contract that provides remuneration for family practice services at the clinic. The contact is available to a group of physicians or an individual physician. Physician commitment is flexible for this position. A physician can sign up for a commitment as flexible/minimal as 'occasional shifts' or they can sign up for a greater commitment up to 0.7 FTE if they wish.
Benefits
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
• Recruitment Incentive: $15,000 (full-time 1.0 - pro-rated for less)
• Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
• Fee Premium: 11.13%
• Annual Flat Fee: $17,248.32
• Rural CME: starting at $440/annum 2 years or less in the community, increasing to $2,640/annum in year 3 & 4 to a maximum of $4,840/annum after 4 years.
• The Northern and Isolation Travel Assistance Outreach Program (NITAOP) supports 48 visits to Saturna per year for a non-residential provider travelling to support the community.
