The Truck Driver is a member of Teamsters Union Local 213 and works under the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement between Sun-Rype Products and Teamsters Union Local 213.

Key activities
Drive, load and unload trucks as directed.
Operate trucks and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform emergency minor repairs on trucks when necessary.
Responsible for the mechanical condition of the vehicle and keeping the vehicle in a clean condition.
Report to the supervisor of trucking operations any mechanical defects of the vehicle.
Produce a bill of lading and/or a hauling slip for every load that is hauled.
Throwing straps on flat decks.
Required training and experience
Have previous experience driving lift trucks and knowledge of truck mechanics.
Have successfully completed an accredited forklift training program.
Skills sought
Proven ability to communicate clearly, both verbal and written.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Specific conditions to the position:
Possess a current BC Class 1 commercial driver’s license and current on-highway air brake endorsement.
Obtain and submit a driver’s abstract every 6 months.
Must have the ability to work day, afternoon & graveyard shifts.
Meet the certification requirements outlined in the CSA Industrial Lift Truck Operator Training regulations.
Provide medical evidence in compliance with the same CSA Standards Part 6.22(a) Medical & Physical Fitness.
