About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance PLC Technician to join our team at our Calgary facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC systems, electrical equipment, and automated processes. This role is critical to ensuring efficient operations, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a high standard of product quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be required to perform a various amount of duties including but not limited to the following:

  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI systems.
  • Modify existing PLC code to improve process efficiency and reliability.
  • Perform regular updates and backups of PLC programs.
  • Analyze process control systems to identify and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure automation systems meet operational needs.
  • Document changes to systems and processes, updating manuals and schematics as necessary.
  • Performs daily tasks in accordance with safety regulations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have an Inter-Provincial Red Seal certification as an Instrumentation Technician or related field
  • 5 years industrial maintenance experience would be an asset
  • Previous safety training an asset
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Attention to detail and high-quality standards
  • Positive attitude and self-starter

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Safety training provided upon hiring.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required in all work environments.
  • Work environments can vary between wet, dusty, cold, hot and high noise conditions.
  • Work around automated equipment.

COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this position is $44.13 per hour. Any adjustments in pay will be in accordance with Local CBA 401.
