Position Description

Production Pharmacist

SickKids is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a temporary full-time Pharmacist to join Production team of Pharmacists.

The Pharmacist is responsible for verifying medication orders and the resolution of drug-related problems. You will join our established team of Pharmacists providing pharmaceutical care as part of the interdisciplinary team. You will be assigned to occasional evening, night and weekend shifts according to the regular rotation schedule.

Here's What You'll Get to Do

  • Review and verify medication orders including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition orders.
  • Respond to drug-related telephone inquiries.
  • Work with the team to address a wide variety of complex drug related problems.
  • Contribute to teaching activities (e.g. orientation of new pharmacists, pharmacy students and pharmacy residents).

Here's What You'll Need

  • Eligible to practice as a pharmacist in Ontario with active registration (Part A) with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Hospital pharmacy residency certificate is preferred.
  • Previous hospital experience is preferred.
  • Paediatric experience, while an asset, is not required as we offer an extensive orientation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.

  • 37.5 hours per week
