About the role

About the Opportunity

The Health Support Aide has an important role within the Surgical team and is responsible for helping with daily routines of care and to support patients/clients with activities of daily living. The role may include: the provision of basic care (comforts), specimen collection and other support functions under the guidance and direction of licensed health care professionals.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12
  • Any previous related experience or related education would be an asset
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures an asset
  • Current BCLS
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred
  • Relevant first aid, first responder training i.e. St. John Ambulance course, HS lifeguard certificate, an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with patients/clients, hospital staff, public and referral sources
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$20.74 - $22.10 Hourly
