About the role
Citi continues to enhance its business control and governance framework by building out Institutional Credit Management (ICM), a function within the Client organization, to house and consistently manage Credit Risk activities performed across the wholesale lending ecosystem. Institutional Credit Management was established with the objective to provide an integrated “end-to-end” credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management and monitoring for wholesale credit businesses across the enterprise. Its formation was an outcome of the Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) Program, an ongoing strategic initiative across the 1st and 2nd lines of defense.
Citi is looking for a Vice President of Institutional Credit Management (ICM) Communications to support the development, implementation and management of ICM’s comprehensive internal communications strategy. This person will report directly to the Head of ICM In-Business Talent & Communications as part of ICM's Credit Product Strategy & Operations organization.
The Vice President will focus on developing and deploying communications relevant to not only the global ICM organization but the broader WCR program as well, utilizing Citi’s internal communication channels. This person will serve as a valued partner to our team to assist in the development of internal communications to help keep employees informed, inspired, and connected to Citi's values, and will work closely with ICM leadership.
What will this person do?
- Support the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive internal communications strategy and plan for ICM and the broader WCR population across 1st and 2nd lines of defense (ranging from 3,000 - 9,000 colleagues globally across multiple internal organizations)
- Serve as a trusted advisor to ICM leadership around strategic communications for the ICM function as well as around various ICM-led transformation efforts (i.e. technology transformation, re-organizations, etc.)
- Identify key changes that are occurring, understand who stakeholders are and translate this into communications strategies and plans
- Draft communication messaging and content as outlined in the communications plans, focusing on what is changing, why, the impacts and the benefits of the changes
- Drive consistency in look, feel, and messaging amongst/across ICM communications, keeping in mind Citi Standards, Guidelines, and Visual Identity
- Provide advisory support and guidance around Citi standards for writing
- Create and build feature articles for publication in various internal news outlets
- Support ICM organizational announcements
- Lead organization of the internal communications calendar
- Support in the design and execution of internal events (e.g., quarterly Town Halls)
- Oversee the deployment of communications, working closely with Citi’s corporate communications team (ESPA)
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6 - 10 years of internal communications experience
- Experience working on large-scale transformation projects and/or events management experience preferred
- Superb interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong project management skills
- Ability to distill and present large amounts of complex information in a clear, concise, colloquial manner as well as creatively visualize information for a wide variety of communications mediums (including emails, presentations, guides, reports, articles, websites, etc.)
- Must be entrepreneurial, resourceful and comfortable working in a small team environment where self-sufficiency and proactivity is essential; is comfortable working independently with limited direction
- Must display maturity in interfacing with senior executives and handling confidential information
- Fast learner, action oriented, organized and resourceful self-starter
- Strategic mindset that closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business
- Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution for complicated and/or unique situations
- Demonstrated ability to develop materials including presentations for senior leadership
- Demonstrated ability to interact and work with senior leaders across the organization Excellent organization skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize within tight deadlines
- Ability to influence broadly and think outside the box
- Knowledge of the financial services industry is strongly recommended
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
