Advertising and Promotion Specialist

About the role

The Advertising and Promotion Specialist will design and distribute marketing materials to promote Education and Elders programming. This role requires creativity, professionalism, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while engaging with local First Nations communities.

Required Qualifications / Education / Experience / Skills High School Diploma or equivalent.

1 year of experience in graphic design, marketing, or advertising (preferred).

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (portfolio preferred).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Valid drivers license (Class 5 preferred).

Must be available for a variable schedule (20-30 hrs/week), including occasional evenings/weekends to meet deadlines.

Ability to maintain Confidentiality and abide by Skwah First Nations’ Policies and Procedures.

Knowledge, respect and understanding of Stó:lō culture, traditions and language is considered an asset.

Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset.

Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Neat in appearance, outgoing, friendly, and cooperative personality.

Duties And Responsibilities Design brochures, flyers, and promotional materials using Adobe Creative Suite.

Develop and implement information campaigns for Education and Elders programs.

Travel to local First Nations to share program information.

Meet strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.

Occasionally work extended hours to complete urgent projects.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education and Elders.
