Box Office Agent Part-time Casual-GCT
About the role
Position Summary
Reporting directly to Box Office, this role is responsible for ticket and merchandise sales, and for providing excellent customer service for events. Able to work independently as well as within a team environment. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts (or obtain an approved replacement if unable to work).
- Accurately process ticket orders and payment for the event; or future events as applicable.
- Manage will call for the events and maintain accurate count on sold and scanned tickets.
- Sell artist merchandise as required, count and keep track of stock.
- Complete daily ticket and merchandise sales reports.
- Accurately reconcile balance sheet of cash, debit/credit received and tickets sold; balance sales and cash float and submit cash to Manager, for audit.
- Assist in scanning or ripping tickets for access to the venue or other duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills; responding professionally, promptly, and efficiently to customer’s service requests and needs.
- Efficiently and courteously answer questions concerning prices, seating, events and related questions. File various records and reports. Perform related administrative clerical work as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Understand and adhere to established policies and procedures, including emergency procedures. (Familiarization with the location of exits and use of emergency equipment.)
- Adhere to the established dress code.
- Ability to use payment terminals, count money and make change accurately and efficiently.
- Proven computer skills, input data, process and record sales transactions.
- Count and track stock accurately for reporting to Management
- Provide accurate knowledge to patrons regarding venue logistics (i.e., location of the ticket office, restrooms, concessions, coat check, hotel, gaming floor, etc.), information about the event, general building details related to operations of Casino, Hotel and Food & Beverage areas
- Attend required training and meetings.
- Demonstrate good judgment and make sound decisions
- Show commitment to personal growth, development, and leadership opportunities
- Proven written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate well.
- Box office and/or phone room experience in computerized ticket and payment systems preferred (Ticketmaster an asset).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required
Work Environment Considerations
- Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays) Must be willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position.
