About the role

What you'll do

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Enterprise SEO Manager to lead and optimize the search engine presence for CanadianTire.ca, SportChek.ca, Marks.com, PartyCity.ca, and other websites under the Canadian Tire umbrella. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive growth through advanced SEO strategies, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration. By leveraging AIO, GEO strategies, and LLM capabilities effectively, you are staying ahead of the curve in the competitive landscape of SEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • SEO Strategy Development: Formulate and implement comprehensive SEO strategies for local, national, and eCommerce markets to improve organic search performance across multiple sites. Guide on how to analyze competitors’ strategies and identify potential gaps or opportunities.
  • Technical SEO: Conduct regular technical audits and performance deep dives to uncover opportunities. Work closely with IT, Digital Product, and Development teams to ensure best practices in HTML, backend systems, server settings, redirects, etc., are followed.
  • Content SEO: Collaborate with Content, UX, Design teams to develop engaging and optimized content.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams such as eCommerce, Analytics, UX, Design, Content, IT to ensure seamless execution of SEO strategies.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Utilize tools like GA4 (Google Analytics 4), Google Search Console (GSC), Looker to track performance metrics. Provide detailed analysis and reporting on SEO performance and communicate findings to senior management. Provide insights into best practices for site speed, crawl stats, mobile optimization, structured data, and other technical aspects of SEO.
  • SEO Tools Utilization: Employ industry-standard tools such as Screaming Frog, SEMrush, SEOMonitor for keyword research, site auditing, competitive analysis.
  • Automation & Innovation: Apply automation techniques using Python/R and leverage LLMs (Language Learning Models) to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Performance Monitoring: Maintain a keen focus on outcome-driven results and continuously monitor key SEO success factors. Adjust strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Presentations & Communication: Present findings and actionable insights to cross-functional teams and senior management effectively.

What you bring

  • A bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant SEO certifications (such from Google, HubSpot and/or Semrush).
  • 7+ years of experience in managing large enterprise SEO programs preferably within the eCommerce or retail sectors.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms and digital marketing trends.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable SEO results in highly competitive markets.
  • In-depth understanding of technical SEO concepts including HTML, backend systems, server-level settings.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools such as GA4, GSC, Looker.
  • Experience with leading SEO tools like Screaming Frog, SEMrush, SEOMonitor.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience working alongside senior management.
  • Expertise in managing agency relationships , ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery of customer-focused SEO strategies.

Nice to have

  • Experience with automation techniques using Python/R
  • Experience with Big Query, Power BI/Tableau for visual reporting

This is an on-site position based at our Toronto office, located at Yonge & Eglinton.
