Position Summary:

The Part-Time Junior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and reporting processes, and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their accounting skills in a creative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (A/P):

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Match purchase orders (POs) to invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries.

Accounts Receivable (A/R):

• Generate and send customer invoices.
• Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Apply payments accurately in accounting software.

Credit Card Reconciliation:

• Collect and verify receipts for all company credit card transactions.
• Categorize expenses and match them to appropriate projects or departments.
• Reconcile monthly credit card statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain a clear audit trail for all card activity.

Purchase Order & Intercompany Transactions:

• Reconcile company POs with vendor invoices and internal approvals.
• Post intercompany transactions between Scene Ideas and Caliper Print, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
• Assist with internal cost allocations and project-based accounting.

General Accounting & Reporting:

• Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports.
• Support payroll processing and timesheet verification (QuickBooks Time, Workforce & Desktop).
• Maintain organized digital and physical records in compliance with BC payroll and tax regulations.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
• 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with payroll and time-tracking tools (e.g., T-Sheets) is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
